Hot take: Pirating music is MORE ethical than using Spotify. The artists don't get paid either way, but at least piracy doesn't support exploitative corporations.

Only downside: many artists do seem to get a kick out of seeing the names of the playlists people add their songs to.
@raphaelmorgan@disabled.social@masukomi @hadley I've heard of a cracked Spotify app floating around somewhere on the internet that blocks ads without one paying Spotify. That's a form of piracy right there since no one gets paid, and the artists could still see themselves on someone's playlist theoretically lol
Then again signing into an app to pirate it sounds like a bad idea
