Just listened to an interview w/ @JessieSinger on #pedestrian #traffic fatalities in the US.

As a #blind person, I often think my most likely cause of death will be getting pasted by an SUV. The young-adult child of a friend recently had their foot run over by a pickup while crossing (with the signal!). Luckily, they will only need surgery and not a pine box.

Moral: Rational individual choices aren't necessarily optimal overall.
