There are reasons that a thing disabled people say frequently is, “Nobody gives a fuck about us but us,” and you can see most of them on display on fedi daily. Doesn’t matter that’s it’s decentralized. Where there are abled people more concerned with maintaining their self-image of being a Good Person™ through selective self-examination, there will be capitulation to eugenicist violence.

I know I’m harsh on this subject. Consider that I’m 40 and I’ve spent extensive energy since I was in 1st grade hand-holding and trying to educate. It’s time for you to do the fucking work. Being more Civil™ about ableism was worth nothing during the decades disabled people have spent trying to movement build and get you to join us in making a world that would also be of huge benefit to you, and right now it’s an active impediment to our common goals of saving people and making the world better.
