I have ME/CFS and I've experienced similar disbelief from others, including doctors, since 1990.
("but you don't *look* sick ...")
I am so sorry that Long Covid patients are going through the same thing!

"People living with long COVID often feel dismissed, disbelieved, and unsupported by their health care providers, according to a new study from the University of Surrey."
I want to add that "offering psychological support instead of medical care" is not helpful. It is indeed insulting.
If you offer psychological care *in addition to* or *as part of* the overall care then that's fine. But it should never be offered *instead of* medical care.
Maybe this is a misquote by the author? I don't know, but the way it is stated here is wrong.
Psychological support can be very helpful! But it is never a substitute for other medical treatment.
@ahimsa_pdx I’ve noticed in my own health journey that medical professionals seem threatened by not having the answers. So they tend to blame us or assume we don’t know our own bodies. It’s awful.
