I'm sitting here looking at the mushrooms coming up through the rotting leaves, and thinking about how much grief and loss are required for growth and change.

@vlrny that's a beautiful sentiment 🥰

@vlrny You'd be surprised how little growth and change come of insurmountable amounts of grief and loss... sometimes the pain threshold is ridiculously high, sometimes you wonder if it's even there...

@vlrny omG, Valerie. Tell me about it. LOL.

And of course not wanting to face that, or not knowing how, or not having the tools and support to face it is what keeps so many people from trying.

No venom in my tone here because been there done that, but it is an essential insight into the human condition I think.

@JustGrist Yuuuup.
Good point. I hadn't really thought of it from the POV of: if you don't grieve/accept loss nothing can ever really change.

I've been busy self pitying about How Much Fucking Life-Detritus I'm gonna have to shift.
*gets metaphysical shovel*
*has a lil healing cry*

@vlrny Didn't mean to invalidate. It's *always* so hard. Just no way around it as far as I've ever been able to tell. Obviously here if you need to talk. <3

@JustGrist oh no worries, not invalidating just added a tangent (as you do😀) I hadn't thought of in my self absorption. Good stuff!

@JustGrist and thank you. 💛
I'm ok, just processing. Everything is so much fekkin work, eh? Even the good stuff comes with a heaping pile of it.

@vlrny
I think that here in the US, we are learning this in the most painful way possible.
